Betaine is a natural compound found in all living organisms, particularly in invertebrates and some plants. Its use as a fishing bait additive offers multiple benefits, the first being its role as a methyl donor, meaning it accelerates the breakdown and digestion of proteins. Another key advantage,arguably the most important, is that carp’s natural food sources contain high levels of betaine, so adding it to boilies helps mimic the taste and chemical signals of their natural diet.
