Green Lipped Mussel Extract (Perna canaliculus) is one of the most recognized and appreciated additives used in boilie mixes. Manufactured through a special freezing process followed by spray-drying, this GLM powder blends very well into recipes and delivers consistent results.
Our version of Green Lipped Mussel Extract has a rich profile of amino acids and organic compounds such as betaine and DMPT, and it is used in aquaculture as a feeding stimulant. In boilie production, it is a highly respected ingredient and is frequently recommended by experienced producers and anglers; among them Bill Cottam (founder of Nutrabaits) recommends it as an additive with a strong impact in mixes.
A key differentiator of our version is its lipid profile: 4–6% lipids, significantly above defatted versions (typically 1–2%), which contributes to a richer and more “complete” nutritional profile in the mix. At the same time, the balanced lipid level helps the product achieve better dispersion and solubility in water compared to full fat versions (which typically contain 8–10% lipids) which, due to huge price increases in recent times, have become difficult to keep in stock at a level that is economically justifiable for use in boilies. This improved dispersion in water translates into a more efficient release of the feeding signals from the boilie. In addition, the balanced lipid level also helps with better product stability over time compared to full fat versions, keeping it more consistent over longer storage periods.
It is a heat-stable product that can be used in any type of boilies, with a recommended dosage of 2.5–5%.
