Belachan Block is a natural extract obtained through a fermentation process of shrimp. The version offered by Baitshop is manufactured in Malaysia, complying with the highest quality standards (GMP/HACCP), originally designed as a product for the food industry. The fermentation process is entirely natural, with shrimp and salt as the only ingredients. This process results in a significant amount of pre-digested proteins and amino acids, easily detectable by carp. Additionally, fermentation generates organic acids with proven effectiveness, the most notable being N-Butyric acid.
In terms of molecular protein mass, the Belachan Block is similar to protein hydrolysates used in aquaculture. However, its taste differs significantly. Unlike a protein hydrolysate, which may have a slightly bitter taste due to the production process, the Belachan Block stands out with its intense shrimp flavor and aroma, greatly enhanced by fermentation. As a result, its use significantly increases the palatability of baits.
The product has a solubility rate of over 60% and remains effective regardless of water temperature. It is easily soluble even in cold water, thanks to its low fat content. It comes in the form of a dark brown paste with a pronounced crustacean odor. Remarkable results have been achieved when the Belachan Block was used in spicy fishmeal mixes, either individually or in combination with the powdered form. It can also be successfully used in bird food or milk protein mixes. For boilies, to achieve a high level of homogenization, it is recommended to dissolve the block in the liquid portion.
